JindalCare – Don’t Take My Word For It…

I’ve been very fortunate when it comes to my little blog and I want to say thanks to everyone who has commented and messaged me.

Some of my blogs about JindalCare have even been reposted on south Louisiana websites and across the Twitterverse, as a result I was contacted by someone who works at the Red River Addiction Center in Alexandria.

Another example of Jindalcare’s negative effects on the Bayou State –

Of course, this person shall remain anonymous, but this is a very real letter, a testimony from someone who works at RRAC:

Griffin, I thought you would be interested,

Red River Addiction Complex (RRAC) was owned and operated by the state until Jindal. Pathways Inc. bought RRAC in 2011.

Now, Pathways is a mental health company that is located in MO with the head office in Clinton.

At the time that RRAC was bought, it was the ONLY addiction treatment center that was in the black.

Two years down the road few of the original staff with RRAC are still at the facility due to the deep pay cut that Pathways enforced.

The facility which is located on Central State Hospital grounds is literally falling apart (I have vines in my windows and the power goes out once a week).

Pathways has shown a disrespect to the clients and the staff by not taking appropriate care in several different forms at RRAC.

Here is what gets me: The clients are the indigent and working poor which are over looked at so many levels.

RRAC has a long history of providing the best care for those who have the disease of addiction but how much longer can it last with having no one held responsible at the state level?

Thanks for sending me this my brave and anonymous friend.

Good luck to you, good luck to us all.
